The report and scientific outcome of the historic meeting between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the UN's Intergovernmental Scientific Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) was launched on June 10, 2021, in Bonn (Germany), with the presence of the international media in a Q&A session. The launch's international repercussion was wide and generated at least 991 articles in newspapers of 58 countries in 22 different languages.

Recognition was also given at the 8th plenary session of IPBES, where several governments highlighted the quality of the report and expressed formal gratitude to the authors for their work, which formalizes intrinsic interactions between biodiversity and climate change and the planetary needs for adaptation and mitigation.

Prof. Mary Gasalla is one of the authors of the publication, having been the only representative of the State of São Paulo, and one of the 4 Brazilians.
