The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, in Hayama, Japan, hosted the IPBES Nature Futures scenarios workshop.

In 2020, Mary Gasalla assumed official participation as an IPBES member, having been nominated to join several groups. Among them, she participates in the Task Force on Scenarios and Models, and works on the organizing committee of the modellers workshop that will take place in January 2021 to catalyze the method that the group currently develops.
