It is with great pleasure that we announce the award given to Dr. Amanda Rodrigues, in IIFET 2018 Seattle Conference, by the study "Implication of the financial performance of open-access industrial fishing fleets off South Brazil and the subsidies policy". 

The prize awarded by the Japan International Fisheries Research Society (JIFRS)-Yamamoto Prize for Best Paper on Responsible Fishing is a great honor.

We acknowledge the Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq) and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) by the financial support, as well as all contributors from the fisheries sector, students, technicians and partner institutions.
